Report Cards
Report cards are given out at the end of each quarter. At the end of the first and third quarters, appointments are made for parent/teacher conferences. No report card will be given out until a parent has met with his/her child’s teacher. The grades on the report card represent the averaging of the class marks, tests and other assignments. Grades are also given out for effort and conduct. Failure in major subjects requires summer school to attain passing grades. Progress reports will also be distributed once during each quarter. The achievement mark is based upon the demonstration of mastery of material covered in class such as:
- Class work
- Homework
- Daily quizzes
- Unit tests
- Comprehensive examinations
- Special projects
The June grade on the report card is an average of the four previous record card grades. This grade will be recorded on student’s permanent report card.
Numerical marks are recorded on report cards for grades 1-8. Letter marks are recorded on report cards for subjects that meet weekly. Passing is any mark 70% or above for grades 1-8. The conduct/effort mark is placed under Character Development as “Conduct Grade.” This mark indicates that the student follows class and school rules, shows care in the use of personal property, treats teachers with respect, treats other students with respect, exercises self control and listens attentively.
