Grades

Homework assignments are given Monday-Thursday.  Parents should be aware of student’s assignments.  Any student not completing his/her homework assignment will have to do so at the discretion of his/her teacher.  If  it continues to be a problem, the parents will be contacted.  Homework is an essential part of the instructional program and reinforces learning.  It serves as a means for clarifying and reviewing material learned from class, for providing motivation and opportunity for individual growth, and for creating experiences of in depth study and supplementary reading.

The time allotments for homework (written and study) are as follows:

  • Grades Pre-K and K:  up to 15 minutes
  • Grades 1 & 2:  up to 30 minutes
  • Grades 3 & 4:  up to 45 minutes
  • Grades 5 & 6:  up to 90 minutes
  • Grades 7 & 8:  up to 120 minutes
