St. Anthony of Padua School is proud to announce academic successes during the 2008/2009 school year:

  1. 7th and 8th grade took first and second place in the nation for the Merrill Lynch Stock Market Game among all the schools entered.
  2. Iowa Test Scores:  St. Anthony scored 66.25% higher than the national average.
  3. Iowa Test Scores:  St. Anthony scored 74% higher than the Archdiocese average for New York State.

St. Anthony’s Parochial School is chartered by the Board of Regents of New York State and follows the State curriculum and New York Archdiocesan guidelines. The curriculum is based on the academic principles each person needs to succeed in today’s world with a strong emphasis on Catholic values.

 Italian Instruction is given for students in 1st through 8th grade, on a weekly basis.

 Gym Classes are held every Tuesday for students in Pre-K through 8th grade.

 Computer Instruction and Internet Access in every classroom, as well as a computer lab.

 Art Instruction is given weekly for students in Nursery through 8th grade.

 Music is given weekly for students in Nursery through 8th grade. A Christmas and Spring concert is presented by all grades.

 D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) an education program given by a certified law enforcement officer in each classroom on a yearly basis.

Role of the Pupil

In order for a student to develop his/her individual capabilities to their fullest potential, he/she should:

  • Make a sincere effort to do his/her best work
  • Develop personal standards of conduct that are reflected in socially acceptable behavior
  • Accept responsibility for his/her own actions
  • Obey school regulations
  • Be punctual in attending school and class
  • Observe the dress uniform code
  • Help maintain school property and keep the school free from damage, debris and defacement
  • Protect books and workbooks at all times through use of book covers and book bags
  • Recognize that the teacher takes the place of the parent at the school
